In Chester, England, an endangered roloway monkey named Masaya has recently given birth to her infant, Lagertha, following a groundbreaking surgical procedure that saved her foot. The surgery, which took place last summer, was necessitated by a golf ball-sized mass that had developed on her foot due to an old thorn injury. Masaya, who is now fifteen years old and a mother of three, had been experiencing recurrent foot issues since her arrival at the Chester Zoo in 2023.
