In the southern North Sea, the UK government has approved a significant new renewable energy project designed to enhance the country's green energy output. The Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind Farm will be constructed approximately 30 miles (48 kilometers) off the Lincolnshire coast, featuring 100 state-of-the-art turbines. The decision was made by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, which assessed the project based on its potential to contribute to the UK's overall energy strategy and climate goals. Developers, GT R4 Limited, estimate that the offshore wind farm will generate approximately 1.5 gigawatts (GW) of electrical power, which is sufficient to serve around 1.5 million homes.
