One example highlighted was the case of Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, an Afghan national who entered the U.S. shortly after the terrorist attack at Kabul airport, who subsequently pleaded guilty to terrorism-related charges. Noem, along with other officials, is adamant about holding accountable those who facilitated the influx of immigrants without proper checks, advocating for necessary follow-ups to identify and remove fraudulent entries. She emphasized the ongoing need to enhance immigration enforcement and to ensure that the safety and security of Americans are prioritized.
