Story

In the UK, a new rooftop attraction called Summit is set to open at Alexandra Palace on February 14, 2026. This experience will offer visitors a guided walk that culminates at the Angel of Plenty statue, positioned 130 meters above sea level. Visitors will enjoy expansive views of London, with clear sightlines extending up to 25 miles, offering an unmatched perspective of the city’s skyline. Landmarks such as St Paul's Cathedral, The Shard, Canary Wharf, and several major stadiums will be visible during the climb. The construction of the roof walk has been the result of collaboration between the team at Alexandra Palace and Wire & Sky, who have emphasized integrating this new attraction into the heritage of the area. The structure gains its title of the highest roof walk in the UK due to its elevation above sea level rather than the height from the ground, highlighting its unique hilltop location. This attraction aims to provide a fresh and adventurous way for people to experience both the Palace and the London skyline. There will be multiple climbing options available, catering to a wide range of visitors. Guests can choose from daytime, sunset, and evening climbs, alongside various group and private options, including educational climbs aimed at schools and youth organizations. This inclusive approach reflects the historic role of Alexandra Palace, often referred to as the People’s Palace, which has provided entertainment and experiences for over 150 years. Furthermore, Lucy Fenner, the commercial director at Alexandra Palace, expressed excitement for how this roof walk will enhance visitor engagement and highlight the incredible views offered by this historic venue. Wire & Sky’s managing director, Andy Broad, echoed these sentiments, congratulating the team on creating a unique way to experience one of London’s most cherished landmarks. By incorporating heritage and adventure into this experience, the roof walk promises to be an extraordinary addition to the variety of attractions available at Alexandra Palace.
