In Singapore, the national carrier, Singapore Airlines (SIA), has achieved a notable ranking as the third best full-service airline in the World’s Best Airlines rankings for 2026, a respected assessment released by AirlineRatings.com, an airline safety and product rating website. This ranking positions SIA behind Qatar Airways, which secured first place, and Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong, which came in second. Since 2014, SIA has consistently been recognized on this list, previously attaining the top position in 2019, thus demonstrating its ongoing commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction. Alongside SIA, Scoot, a low-cost subsidiary, earned recognition by placing fifth in the low-cost carriers category. The new category titled Best Hybrid Airlines was introduced by Ms. Petersen in 2025 to recognize carriers that blend both full-service and low-cost operations. In this year’s rankings, Lufthansa, WestJet, and Virgin Australia were recognized as the top three hybrid airlines. This addition reflects the market pressures that low-cost carriers exert on full-service airlines, forcing them to innovate and adapt in order to remain competitive. Additionally, SIA achieved high rankings across various categories, being awarded first place in the World’s Best First Class and second in the World’s Best Economy Class, following Air New Zealand.
