Story

In Colombia, the husband and wife duo, Gustavo Acero and Yuri Acero, have expanded their culinary venture by opening a new location of Encanto Crepes & Café. This new establishment, located on Main Street in Greenport, was inaugurated last month, following a year of planning and preparation. The couple initially launched their first café on Valentine's Day in 2023, and their desire for a larger space led them to this new venue, which was previously occupied by Di Angela Goods & Accessories. Yuri Acero expressed gratitude for their original location while emphasizing their vision for a more expansive and well-decorated café. The new café features a full menu that has significantly grown from its original offerings. It now boasts 12 different crepe flavors and 45 varieties, all prepared in an open kitchen, allowing customers to witness the cooking process. Among the new menu items, the Colombian extraordinaire crepe stands out, made with dulce de leche, guava paste, and mozzarella cheese, priced at $14. For those seeking savory options, the pulled pork crepe and chipotle chicken crepe are available for $16 each, while seafood lovers can enjoy the salmon crepe or shrimp salad crepe, priced at $16 and $17, respectively. In addition to crepes, the café has introduced authentic Colombian delicacies such as arepas, almojabanas, and corn griddle cakes. A highlight of the menu is the Colombian hot dog, priced at $10, which is topped with onions, pineapple, mozzarella cheese, potato chips, and chipotle sauce. This diverse menu aims to cater to a wide range of tastes and preferences, showcasing the rich flavors of Colombian cuisine. Looking ahead, Yuri Acero has expressed plans for further expansion, indicating that more locations may be opened across Long Island. This ambition reflects their commitment to sharing Colombian culinary traditions with a broader audience, while also enhancing the dining options available in Greenport. The couple's journey from a small café to a larger establishment illustrates their dedication to their craft and their desire to create a welcoming space for food enthusiasts.
