In the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, specifically in the Donetsk region, a significant number of civilians remain in perilous conditions. Dmytro Petlin, the head of the Division for Operational Duty, Communications, Alerting, and Public Information at the Department of Civil Protection, Conscription, and Defense of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, disclosed that approximately 13,600 civilians are still located in areas classified as active combat zones. This alarming figure pertains to 20 communities that are currently under threat due to ongoing military actions. The situation for civilians in the Donetsk region has been dire since the onset of the conflict, with many residents facing the constant threat of violence and instability. As of now, there are about 130,000 civilians remaining in the government-controlled territories of the Donetsk region, which includes slightly more than 7,000 children.
