Strahinja Jokic, the older brother of Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, has received a formal citation related to an alleged assault during an April game at Ball Arena. According to an affidavit, the incident occurred in the stands and was captured on video, which subsequently went viral on TikTok. Strahinja was identified in the footage as being involved in the altercation alongside an unidentified fan. The citation was served to Strahinja on July 19, during which he voluntarily provided a statement to investigators. He maintains that he acted in defense of an older acquaintance, asserting that he did nothing wrong. The alleged victim, who was interviewed by authorities on April 25, reported sustaining cuts and bruises to his left eye and claimed he was punched by one of the Jokic brothers in an unprovoked attack. Following the incident, the victim sought medical attention and was diagnosed with a concussion. Witnesses corroborated the victim's account, stating that Strahinja had indeed punched him. This incident is not Strahinja's first brush with the law; he was previously arrested for second-degree assault and false imprisonment after a woman accused him of choking her and preventing her from leaving an apartment in downtown Denver. In the current case, he faces charges of third-degree assault for knowingly causing reckless bodily injury.
