However, once Jones returns to full health, the Colts are expected to resume their search for a trade partner willing to take on Richardson. Analysts suggest that the Minnesota Vikings could be a potential destination for him, especially if they decide to move on from J.J. McCarthy before the trade deadline in November. Kristopher Knox from Bleacher Report noted that while Richardson is still in Indianapolis, he could serve as a backup during Jones's recovery. Knox also emphasized that Richardson should aim to rebuild his stock elsewhere, similar to how other quarterbacks like Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield have done in the past. The Vikings had previously shown interest in Richardson before acquiring another quarterback, Kyler Murray. Murray's performance with a strong receiving corps could influence the Vikings' decision-making regarding their future at the quarterback position.
