Story

In a significant move to expand its operations, Paladin Envirotech, a Florida-based mineral recycling firm, has acquired ICT, an IT asset disposal provider located in County Meath, Ireland, which was established in 2003. This acquisition, although the financial terms remain undisclosed, marks Paladin’s second acquisition in Europe since its founding in 2025, bringing its global spending on acquisitions to €60 million. ICT has been a prominent player in the IT asset disposal sector, having processed over 2,000 tonnes of end-of-life electronics and securely destroyed more than 500,000 data-bearing devices within the past year alone. The integration of ICT into Paladin’s operations is expected to significantly bolster the recovery of critical minerals in Europe, which is currently insufficient to meet the European Union’s targets. Following the acquisition, ICT is set to relocate its operations to Paladin’s new 52,000 square foot processing facility in Dublin, where it will continue to serve its customer base across Europe, particularly in Ireland, which is known as the EU's data center capital. The CEOs of both companies, Brian Diesselhorst of Paladin and Eva Warren of ICT, have expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting their commitment to security, compliance, and sustainability in IT asset disposal. The collaboration is intended to enhance on-site data destruction capabilities and create a model that allows organizations to achieve higher standards of data security and sustainability across Ireland and the UK. This development aligns with the urgent need for increased recycling and recovery capacity for critical minerals in Europe, as emphasized by Paladin.
