In a significant advancement for secure communications, Ireland has embarked on a project known as IrelandQCI, which is part of the broader EuroQCI initiative focused on deploying secure quantum communication infrastructure across Europe. Recently, IrelandQCI completed a successful demonstration of quantum communication at the Dublin City Council. This test involved deploying quantum communication systems over the existing municipal fibre network to establish a highly secure connection between two strategic locations within the council’s infrastructure.
