In the United States, Jeff Bezos and his aerospace company Blue Origin are strategically positioning themselves to benefit from a recent conflict between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX. This tension arose in early June 2025, following Musk's backlash against Trump, which created uncertainty surrounding Musk's access to government contracts. Reports indicate that discussions between Bezos, Blue Origin executives, and Trump’s administration have been occurring since mid-June, aiming for a larger share of government funding after the fallout of the Trump-Musk split. However, one of Blue Origin’s significant challenges remains its ability to demonstrate reliable launches of its New Glenn orbital rocket. As SpaceX aims to perform 170 launches this year, Blue Origin hopes to secure contracts related to NASA projects, including efforts to establish a lunar cargo vehicle.
