Story

On November 14, 2025, Taiwan and Poland engaged in the 13th bilateral economic consultations in Wrocław, Poland, aimed at strengthening their business cooperation and industry exchanges. This significant event was jointly led by Taiwan’s Deputy Economic Minister Cynthia Kiang and Michał Jaros, the Secretary of State of the Polish Ministry of Economic Development and Technology. Kiang highlighted that the upcoming 2025 Taiwan delegation, comprising over 100 members, is set to be the largest ever, following last year’s record-size delegation. During the consultations, both officials acknowledged the importance of the growing economic relationship between Taiwan and Poland. Jaros referred to Taiwan as a key and trusted trade partner. Poland has expressed its intent to enhance collaboration with Taiwan through the establishment of resilient and secure supply chains and the introduction of streamlined business procedures. This includes providing one-stop services for Taiwanese firms aiming to expand their operations within Poland. Discussions at the consultations included cooperation in fields such as information and communications technology, semiconductors, and renewable energy. Furthermore, both parties signed a memorandum of understanding to support the development of special economic zones and industrial parks. They also renewed an existing memorandum regarding cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs. In a related event, Cynthia Kiang made remarks at the 21st Taiwan-Poland Joint Business Council, held in Łódź a day prior, where around 100 businesses from both sides sought opportunities to collaborate on green energy initiatives, energy-saving technologies, automation, and ICT solutions. Statistical data from 2024 indicates that bilateral trade between Taiwan and Poland achieved a total of USD 2.08 billion, with Taiwanese investments in Poland amounting to USD 98.85 million by September 2025. This made Poland Taiwan's sixth-largest trading partner in the European Union, illustrating a robust partnership that is expected to grow even further in the future.
