This new initiative will provide cruise enthusiasts with more options for departure points. The move diversifies the cruise travel landscape, which is primarily centered around London Tilbury, while also covering other regional ports such as Bristol and Liverpool. The adult-only cruise line aims to enhance the convenience for passengers, particularly those residing in the south of England, who find the prospect of no-fly cruising appealing. Ambassador's newest ship, Ambition, which was launched in 2023, will be the vessel for these sailings. Passengers can look forward to eight different itinerary options that span until April 2027, with fares starting at £1,199 per person for suite accommodations. One of the highlighted routes includes a six-night journey to Belgium, France, and Holland, set to depart on April 6, 2026. The pricing and itinerary details indicate a clear strategy by Ambassador to attract a broad demographic seeking easy access to European destinations. Christian Verhounig, the chief executive of Ambassador Cruise Line, highlighted the significance of this launch as an essential step towards expanding the company's regional departure program. The launch of Portsmouth as a departure port is especially beneficial for those travelers based in southern England. The expansion into Portsmouth will also place Ambassador alongside established cruise lines such as Regent Seven Seas, Viking, Fred Olsen, Swan Hellenic, and Windstar, which already serve this port.
