The government has announced its intention to participate in the scheme starting from the 2027/28 academic year. With the announcement of the UK planning to pay approximately £570 million to participate in Erasmus, the government is keen to underscore the importance of educational mobility for young people, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent them from studying abroad.
