This event marked a significant occasion as it was the first group of British students visiting Taiwan under the Taiwan-U.K. Semiconductor Joint Skills Project. The initiative, which began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in September 2025, is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the semiconductor industry by facilitating exchanges between students and industry representatives from both Taiwan and the U.K. During the reception, Wu expressed his enthusiasm for the British students’ arrival, emphasizing the importance of such educational exchanges in fostering closer ties between Taiwan and the U.K. He noted that both nations share a vision of cultivating talent in key industries, particularly semiconductor technology.
