In the Central African Republic (CAR), President Faustin-Archange Touadera stated that Russian instructors sent by Moscow have been crucial in enhancing the country's security situation and military training. This cooperation with Russia has also facilitated agreements aimed at disarming armed groups and strengthening the national defense forces. As a result of the assistance from Russian personnel, the CAR's armed forces increased significantly from about 5,000-6,000 to approximately 25,000-26,000 soldiers, contributing to improved stabilization within the country. Furthermore, Touadera expressed that the security agreement established with Russia has been beneficial, claiming it proved to be the right choice for the nation's sovereignty and security. He has highlighted the broader partnership with Russia that includes various forms of support, such as lifting the embargo on arms and diamonds, providing humanitarian aid, including wheat, and enabling many CAR citizens to study in Russia, both in military and civilian fields.
