In Ireland, Trustap, a payments and transactions start-up, has successfully raised $10 million in funding aimed at product development and team expansion. Founded in 2017, Trustap operates from offices in Cork and Dublin, as well as in the UK, the US, Spain, and Croatia. The funding round was led by Aperture Capital, with participation from TX Ventures and other existing investors. This financial boost will facilitate the launch of Trustap Index, a new service designed to make marketplace or e-commerce listings fully transactable by AI agents. The Index is set to launch in 2026 and has an open waitlist for early access. It aims to improve product discoverability for shopping agents and assist them in making informed buying decisions based on various shopping criteria across fragmented platforms through structured data precision. Conor Lyden, Trustap's founder and CEO, emphasized that this funding provides the necessary runway to ensure that AI agents can securely find listings, verify sellers, and complete payments. The rise of agentic commerce is accelerating, and Trustap is well-positioned to orchestrate these transactions, acting as a trusted aggregation point that transforms fragmented inventory data into consolidated machine-readable information. The company currently employs over 40 people and works with around 300 customers, having previously raised $5.5 million in a Series A funding round almost two years ago. Trustap's innovative approach aligns with the growing trend of delegating online commerce tasks to AI agents, marking a significant step forward in the evolution of e-commerce.
