On Thursday, November 28, 2024, more than 30 children were safely evacuated from a school bus that erupted into flames while traveling in Kiama, New South Wales. The incident occurred around 8:45 am near the intersection of Collins Street and Terralong Street, while the bus was en route to Kiama Public School and Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School. The bus was carrying up to 33 students, in addition to the driver, when the blaze broke out. Upon receiving reports of the fire, New South Wales Fire and Rescue crews quickly responded to the scene to extinguish the flames and ensure the safety of everyone involved. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the evacuation.
