Story

On December 18, 2025, JetBlue inaugurated its first airport lounge, BlueHouse, at New York City's JFK airport, specifically in terminal 5. The lounge spans 9,000 square feet and is designed with an Art Deco theme, featuring curated local art and elements reminiscent of New York City apartments. This initiative aligns with JetBlue's strategy to position itself as a premium airline that emphasizes approachable hospitality without the elitism typically associated with premium services. In addition to a warming atmosphere and a design that invites relaxation, the lounge offers a variety of food and beverage options inspired by the local culinary landscape. Food offerings include freshly prepared grab-and-go items, which are created in collaboration with local business Union Square Events. Morning selections consist of breakfast staples like bacon and egg sandwiches using New York cheddar, while lunch options feature classics such as pastrami on rye and chicken Caesar wraps. The lounge also showcases a diverse beverage menu, with local beers, wines curated by renowned NYC sommeliers, and coffee from the well-known Greenwich Village establishment Joe Coffee. Customers can find ample open seating areas, reliable high-speed Wi-Fi, and several power outlets for convenience. JetBlue has established its lounge as an inclusive space, emphasizing comfort and community. It features a game room stocked with board games and toys to cater to families traveling with children. Access to the lounge is complimentary for high-tier TrueBlue Mosaic 4 members, along with business-class Mint customers and JetBlue Premier credit card holders. Starting in February 2026, the airline plans to offer limited-access passes for additional customer groups to enhance their travel experiences. This approach reflects JetBlue's commitment to making premium experiences accessible to a broader audience. JetBlue's leadership highlighted the significance of this opening. Stephanie Evans Greene, senior vice president of marketing and brand, expressed that the lounge aims to make customers feel at home in a stylish environment that celebrates both JetBlue's history and New York's unique character. Marty St. George, JetBlue's president, framed the lounge's debut as a pivotal milestone for the airline as they seek to deliver affordable yet premium travel experiences to their customers. The introduction of the lounge at JFK is set to enhance overall customer satisfaction and comfort at one of the country's busiest airports.
