Story
In a significant expansion of its premium services, JetBlue unveiled its first airport lounge, named BlueHouse, at John F. Kennedy International Airport in the United States. The lounge, which spans two floors and covers 9,000 square feet, officially opened its doors on December 18, 2025, at 5 a.m., located in Terminal 5. The design of BlueHouse draws inspiration from the vibrant energy of New York City, featuring an apartment-style aesthetic with Art Deco elements and various nods to JetBlue’s heritage. Customers are intended to feel as if they are stepping into a welcoming New York City apartment filled with character. This lounge marks an important milestone in JetBlue's strategy to elevate itself into the premium airline sector, differentiating itself from budget carriers like Frontier, Spirit, and Southwest. The opening of BlueHouse comes as part of the JetForward initiative, aimed at enhancing customer experience through premium hospitality. Stephanie Evans Greene, the senior vice president of marketing and brand at JetBlue, emphasized that the lounge was designed to uncover layers of JetBlue history while embodying the charm of New York City. This concept reflects their broader vision of promoting a customer-first experience. Guests using the lounge will have access to free high-speed Wi-Fi, power outlets, and multiple seating areas catering to different needs, whether for socializing, working, or relaxing before flights. A game room stocked with JetBlue-branded games, including chess and checkers, adds a playful facet to the visitors' experience. Access to BlueHouse is complimentary for Mosaic 4 members, JetBlue Premier Card members, and transatlantic Mint customers, with Mosaic 4 and Premier members allowed to bring one guest at no cost. Alongside this lounge, JetBlue has been actively working on enhancing the overall travel experience at Terminal 5 with additional renovations and upgraded in-flight services for domestic flights starting in 2026. The company is also planning to open a second BlueHouse lounge at Boston Logan International Airport’s Terminal C in 2026, further solidifying its commitment to providing premium services as part of its growth trajectory within the airline industry.
