The 160-page report contradicts earlier media narratives, confirming that there was no pressure from the White House to clear Lafayette Square of protesters prior to Trump’s arrival. Law enforcement officials noted that while they were aware of the president’s intentions, the planned operations to clear the area were already in motion and not expedited due to his visit. Trump famously held up a Bible for photographers during the visit, which has since been scrutinized. The report also criticized the decision-making processes of former Attorney General Bill Barr and other agencies involved during the unrest.
