This reduction in size allows it to accommodate single items, such as a pair of glasses, rather than serving as a catchall for multiple items like wallets and keys.
Despite its smaller footprint, the new Valet charging tray offers notable upgrades in terms of charging capabilities. The original model had a maximum wireless charging output of 15W, while the new version increases this to 25W. However, there is a trade-off; the USB-C port on the side, which previously allowed for an additional 15W charging for a second device, is now limited to 10W when the Qi2 charger is in use. The new Valet charging tray is priced at $129.99, making it a more affordable option compared to the original model, which retailed for $179.99. However, it remains on the higher end of the market for Qi2 wireless chargers, primarily due to its premium materials. The tray features a weighted zinc alloy base and is wrapped in high-quality Nappa leather, available in black, brown, or taupe. Additionally, the upper section of the tray is surrounded by a removable metal frame, allowing users to customize the look with alternate colors sold separately by Twelve South.
